HELLO!

WE ARE JET!

JET can help you with many aspects of your life, in particular improve your communication skills, provide guidance as to how to job hunt more effectively, and look at opportunities for suitable training. We also offer you personal support where we can either help you ourselves to overcome your problem, or refer you to another organisation who can help. The service JET provides is unique, and JET has supported many thousands of clients to plan for and improve their future prospects.

Who are JET ?

JET was originally established in 2001 as part of Newcastle City Council's ESOL (English for Speakers of other Languages) service. We became a registered charity in April 2006. It was recognised that there was a gap in provision to help those who were either from the settled ethnic backgrounds in the City, or newly arrived in the UK, to overcome some of the challenges they faced in searching for work, suitable training and work experience, as well as integrating into society and indeed the their local communities.

JET has been developed with the aim of helping people like you to grow your skills to meet local demand, and to establish useful links with employers and voluntary organisations in the community.

JET have a team of qualified Personal Advisors who are able to help you with your search for work.

Our Advisors will work closely with you to identify your skills and help you to achieve your goals.

Contact us and we will invite you in for a friendly chat, so we can identify what kind of help you want from us or how we can help you to improve your skills and find work.

JET also offer the National Careers Service for expert careers advice and support. We would love to see you at JET, the best way to contact us is to come to one of our National Careers Service drop in sessions, on either a Wednesday afternoon at 1pm, or Thursday morning at 10am. Anyone can come along without an appointment.

Please note that unfortunately, we cannot accommodate children at these sessions due to restrictions at our premises, however, we can make alternative arrangements if you give us a ring on 0191 273 5761.

Disabled access is also available by appointment at various venues across the City.
