Sobia Chaudhry
Sobia came to the UK in September 06, from Pakistan, and registered with JET 2 months later. She currently lives in Fenham with her family. She came to JET wanting to find work in child care or in the care industry. We provided her with a CV, and put her on the next ESOL For Jobs course which started a month or so later. Sobia then also successfully completed the following Work UK course.
In March, JET held an Employer Event - we invited 4 local employers to come along and speak to some of our clients about the sort of work available. Sobia was there and was interested in the care service which CASA provide, and of the training they offer.
Sobia has now started her CASA training and will be in fulltime employment with them following this. Of JET Sobia said, "The staff there are very friendly and very co-operative. Their classes are free, and they have helped me to build my confidence and I have good self-esteem now. They also helped me to improve my CV, and gave me good advice for preparing for interviews - and now I have a job!"
