Massimla Aniteu, pictured above with JET Senior Guidance worker Julie, came to the UK from Togo. His wife told him about JET, and he came to us in July 2006. JET quickly learned that he was a qualified accountant and had a degree in English language.
He was told about some of the courses JET runs, and was keen to start on ESOL For Jobs. We also updated his CV for him and suggested he volunteer to help keep his skills honed. One of our staff gave him regular training using the SAGE accountancy package, and he also started attending the ICT classes too to learn new computer skills. He also completed training with CASA including First Aid, Personal Care and Health & Safety.
He has since secured permanent paid employment with Newcastle City Council. Julie says, "Massimla has worked very hard and proven himself to be highly dedicated in everything he does. He has been an enthusiastic learner, and his determination to secure employment has resulted in success for him."
