JET are working in partnership with Building Futures East and Gateshead College Autoskills Centre funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), via Newcastle Science City.
Interested in gaining an Electric Vehicle Awareness qualification?
This is an introductory course designed for people who have an interest in electric and hybrid vehicles but have no previous knowledge or contact with them. The course will include site visits.
• 6 week course (2 days a week attendance required)
• Delivered at Building Futures East and Gateshead College
Course structure
• An introduction and overview to electric and hybrid vehicles
• How to identify the vehicles and how they are powered
• Develop knowledge of how to look after these vehicles, charge them and connect and disconnect them
• Understand the potential hazards of electric drive systems, and how to ensure you work safely around them
• Gain accredited qualifications in IMI Electric Vehicle Awareness Level 1 (recognised by governments QCF validation and has a QCF credit value of 1 unit), EDI Level 1 National Award – Manual Handling Techniques and CSCS test

I would highly recommend JET to anyone not used working in the UK - they will give you all the support you need to find the right job. Although I am now busy with my work, I would definitely consider doing further courses at JET in the future. - Twayiba Moussa
