Case Study

Yunis Hasaballa from Sudan is a JET Volunteer.

He came to JET keen to learn new skills, and so he first attended the ESOL for Jobs course with us. He has also done voluntary work for IKEA, and for Community Connections.

Hardus Duplessis

Hardus was brought up and educated in South Africa. He has taught English to non native speakers for over 15 years, both in the UK and abroad in Russia and Indonesia. He and holds a level 7 diploma in English language teaching to adults (DELTA). He currently heads up Newcastle City Learning's ESOL service, part of the Council's Further Education program. During his time with the council, Hardus helped to establish the Newcastle ESOL Partnership. The Partnership maps ESOL needs in the city and ensure these needs are met by encouraging and facilitating work between different providers, the third sector, JCP and other agencies.

He has two kids, loves surfing but when there aren't any waves, he's happy reading a book or watching a film.
